The samples can be visualised in many ways. Click on the Scatterplot
Display Options button in the toolbar. In the dialogue box which
appears, try selecting the Rectangle radio
button in the Data Visualisation section
and click on Apply. Try experimenting
with different values in the Data Properties
section and watch the effect on the way the samples are drawn. When ready
to continue, select the Ellipse radio
button again, and enter the values 8,
8 and 1
respectively into the Data Properties
section to restore the original settings.
In the Scale section of the dialog box, try applying the Fit to window option. You should see the axes stretch so that the samples fill the scatter plot window. The default is Maximise aspect which tries to use as much of the window as possible without changing/deforming the relative scale of the axes. The Margin value determines how much white space should be present at the border of the window. The Manual option keeps the scale constant at all times, irrespective of the size of the scatter plot window. This is the best choice when rotating the samples. Apply the Manual option now and click on Close to close the dialogue box
To
rotate the scatter plot in real time press the Autorotate
toolbar button. The scatter plot will start rotating in three dimensions.
To vary the rotation speed, click on the Rotation
Options toolbar button, and apply different Rotation
factors. Close the dialogue box once you are happy with the rotation
speed. You can continue to work on your data as the scatter plot rotates.
